Local Munitions Boost May Signal Rift With US Over Delays During Gaza

The recent war in Gaza has resulted in changes within Israel. One of those changes involves the Israel military. Due to the Obama administration's withholding of key weaponry during the Gaza War, Israel seems to finally be doing something it should have done long ago — turning to defense contractors within the nation itself.

Why America's Support for Israel Can Waver

Most people think friendship between nations is the same as it is for individuals. This, however, is far from the truth. As Lord Palmerston said: "Nations have no permanent friends or allies, just permanent interests."

The Obama Administration's Unprecedented Outburst Against Israel

The irrationality and severity of the recent rebukes of Israel by Obama, encouraging other "friends" to join in the condemnation, suggests that he remains obsessively determined to force Israel to adopt his approach. And this, despite the events of recent months and his own admission in his U.N. speech that he had hitherto erred in asserting that the Israeli-Arab conflict was a major impediment to regional stability.

Views/Commentary

Cease the Ceasefires

There is something grotesque about people living thousands of miles away, in safety and comfort, loftily second-guessing and trying to micro-manage what the Israelis are doing in a matter of life and death. "Ceasefire" and "negotiations" are magic words to the international community. But in the long run they cost far more lives.

A Letter to US Ambassador to Israel, Dan Shapiro, Regarding Jonathan Pollard

US President Obama continually refuses to release Jonathan Pollard from prison despite the fact that many Israeli and US government leaders, including those from the FBI, CIA, NSA and Department of Justice, have called for his release. Contrary to statements spread by uninformed individuals, Pollard was never indicted for harming the United States, for compromising codes, agents, or war plans, nor was he ever charged with treason. Pollard was indicted on only one charge: one count of passing classified information to an ally, without intent to harm the United States, for which the usual sentence is only two to four years. One fact that stands out significantly is that while the United States continues to refuse to honor the plea agreement it made with Pollard, it demands that Israel release hundreds of terrorists who have been tried and convicted of committing multiple, heinous murders, of whom many of the victims are US citizens.

Remembering Irena Sendler

Irena Sendler was a Polish Gentile who rescued more than 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto. The Life in a Jar project celebrates her accomplishments in defeating Hitler's intended murder of these children.

Websites and Books About the History of the Jewish "Exodus 1947" Ship

When thinking of the reestablishment of the nation of Israel most people usually think of the Holocaust. For those who know some of the history, stories of the British refusing Jews entry into Palestine also come to mind. But one story which stands out — and many people tend to forget — is the account of the Jewish refugee ship known as Exodus 1947. The true story of the Exodus is largely unknown, forgotten for the most part.

Let Us Finish the Job

It is time to drop our flyers in Gaza. Let us warn them to leave. When the time period on those flyers elapses — then the carpet bombing must begin. Then the infantry must follow. If Israel does not overcome their gentle peace-seeking natures, it will be their children who will pay with their lives. End this nightmare once and for all.

US State Department, French Embassy Partner in Anti-Semitic Book Fair

The U.S. State Department is listed as a "cultural partner" of the 24th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, held from April 30 to May 5. Among the anti-Semitic publications on display at the fair (in both English and Arabic) — books which paved the way for the Holocaust — are The International Jew, Mein Kampf and The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion.

U.S. Foreign Aid to Israel [April 11, 2014]

This booklet covers a broad range of topics related to Israeli demography, society, and economy. Included are facts about the government and its founding, facts about the land itself, as well as population, standard of living information, education and economic stats and many other details about the nation. Very good background information.

Are Settlements Illegal?

The world declares that the Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria are illegal and must be destroyed and the Jews relocated. They base their claim on either the Geneva Convention, UN General Assembly Resolution 181, UN Security Council Resolution 242, or any number of other documents. The facts, however, prove otherwise.

Is Jerusalem Sacred for Muslims?

Muslims claim that Jerusalem is sacred for two reasons: First, Muslims were initially commanded to pray toward Jerusalem. But when the Jews refused to convert to Islam, Muhammad changed the prayer direction toward Mecca. Second, Muslims believe that Muhammad ascended to heaven and back from "the Rock" which much later after his death was interpreted to mean what is today the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. Interestingly though, Islamic sources from the first 50 years or so after Muhammad's death make clear that Jerusalem had absolutely no holy status for Muslims.

Why Is Israel's Presence in the Territories Still Called "Occupation"?

When an armed force holds territory beyond its own national borders, the term "occupation" is usually used to describe its holding on the land. However, not all the factual situations that we commonly think of as "occupation" fall within the limited scope of the term "occupation" as defined in international law.

The History and Meaning of "Palestine" and "Palestinians"

Palestine has never existed ... as an autonomous entity. There is no language known as Palestinian. There is no distinct Palestinian culture. There has never been a land known as Palestine governed by Palestinians. Palestinians are Arabs.

"No weapon formed against you shall succeed, and every tongue that contends with you at law you shall defeat. Such is the lot of the servants of Yahweh, such their triumph through Me — declares Yahweh." (Isaiah 54:17)

Israel Will Survive Without U.S. Aid
It is Israel alone that gives the United States a guaranteed and safe base whenever needed. It is the Haifa naval harbor that is open to the US Sixth Fleet regularly. It is in the Negev that the US stores tons of military equipment for use when needed. It is Israel that provides the Voice of America an area in which to build new, powerful transmitters. It is Israel that flies US F-16 planes, in real combat, to tell the Americans what defects exist. It is Israel that puts Soviet missiles given to the Syrians out of commission and then explains to Washington how it was done. It is Israel that captures a Soviet T-72 tank and shows it to the CIA for the first time. It is Israel that has the brains, the technology, the ability to create; things that no nation in the region has.

Critics and enemies of Israel, including members of the UN and organs such as the International Court of Justice (ICJ) have come to use the Geneva Convention as a weapon against Israel, even when statements by authoritative analysts, scholars and drafters of the document contradict everything said by those who distort history for politically motivated reasons.

Despite what Yasir Arafat said, and what Mahmoud Abbas and other members of the Palestinian National Council continue to allege, the PLO Charter still remains, to this day, unchanged. They believe they have fooled the world; however it only takes a bit of research to find out they haven't.

The leader of the organization wanting to create an Arab state carved out of Judea and Samaria, Mahmoud Abbas, has continually publicly honored terrorists from many different anti-Israel terrorists groups, all the while receiving support, encouragement, and funding from the United States government. The US seems to turn a blind eye to this type of behavior, wanting desperately for Israel to give up the land to their enemies. The terrorist who was honored this time was Abu Jihad, who was responsible for murder of 125 Israelis, many of them US citizens.

There is a myth hanging over all discussion of the Arab problem: this land was Arab land taken from its native inhabitants by invading Jews. The reason this is a myth is hardly ever made known. In fact, the Arab press has done an excellent job of making it seem to be the truth. So what is this myth and how strong is it?

» Humanitarian Assistance to Gaza

The government of Israel maintains several security corridors for the transfer of goods, humanitarian aid, fuel supplies, and other assistance for Gaza's Arab civilian population. Gaza is currently controlled by Hamas, a quasi-independent political/terrorist branch of the Fatah-controlled Palestinian Authority, based in Ramallah. This corridor is used by internationally recognized organizations including the United Nations and the Red Cross. Additional details can be found in our Gaza section.
