The US State Department has shown that it will resist any change in its policy toward UNRWA practices that exacerbate and perpetuate the refugee problem. The sad reality is that the State Department does not want such simple reforms. State has chosen instead to act as UNRWA's patron and the protector of its mission, perpetuating and expanding the refugee issue as a source of conflict against Israel.
Chief Palestinian [sic] negotiator Saeb Erekat, who this past week claimed Palestinian lineage to the Canaanites, is not the first Palestinian to reinvent history. A study of history shows that the roots of present-day Palestinians lie far from here.
A handful of news groups reported this week that Israeli officials had opened dams leading into the Gaza Strip, causing further destruction to a region that's already suffering from devastating rains. The problem with these reports is that ... there are no dams in southern Israel.
Councilman King warns plan up for debate to whitewash 3,000 illegal Arab housing units, build 7,000 new Arab units, threatening the city balance. The City Council was told the plan would "only" allow for 2,2000 housing units, as opposed to the real figure of 7,000.
The prime minister's apology on Monday should allow the new government to start on the right foot. But that's exactly the problem with those who can't accept the results, including, apparently, US President Barack Obama. According to his plans, the Israeli government was suppose to start on the Left foot. Israeli voters, however, preferred the Right foot.
On Wednesday Britain's advertising watchdog banned an Israeli government tourism advertisement for suggesting that the "Old City" of Jerusalem was part of Israel.
Obama needs to wake up. The real enemy is not Netanyahu. The real enemy is Iran, Hizb'Allah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Islamic State, and the establishment of a terrorist state in the midst of Israel.
It's no state secret that US President Barack Obama is not a huge fan of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. His distain for the Jewish leader is well-known throughout the world; he's never tried to hide it. But now that Israel is having new elections in March does it mean Obama could, either directly or indirectly, influence the elections in Israel in order to obtain a defeat for Netanyahu?
American Jews, like the German Jews prior to World War II, continue to deceive themselves. "I'm an American", they say. And they believe that is the way they are seen by the Gentiles and so, therefore, they do not see how the Gentiles in the United States are beginning to fear them. But it's the Gentiles who will quickly teach them they're a Jew.
||"No weapon formed against you shall succeed, and every tongue that contends with you at law you shall defeat. Such is the lot of the servants of Yahweh, such their triumph through Me — declares Yahweh." (Isaiah 54:17)

In the 2014 Gaza War, Israel systemically applied established rules of conduct that adhered to or exceeded the Law of Armed Conflict (LOAC) in a virtually unprecedented effort to avoid inflicting civilian casualties. The Israel Defense Force (IDF) implemented unprecedented precautionary measures with full knowledge that they often would degrade the efficacy of an attack by allowing evacuation of military personnel, equipment, or munitions. This report finds that IDF operations in Gaza exercised considerable restraint and exceeded the requirements of LOAC.

As far as most of the world goes, the legality of the communities in Judea and Samaria has been determined, in secret, by the International Committee of the Red Cross, an international relief organization. It is not a judicial body, yet, in the case of Israel, the majority of the world has chosen to accept its rulings as law. However, the legal status of "Palestine", designated as the "Jewish national homeland," was already established almost 100 years ago by the League of Nations, the San Remo agreements, and the British Mandate.
Muslims claim that Jerusalem is sacred for two reasons: First, Muslims were initially commanded to pray toward Jerusalem. But when the Jews refused to convert to Islam, Muhammad changed the prayer direction toward Mecca. Second, Muslims believe that Muhammad ascended to heaven and back from "the Rock" which much later after his death was interpreted to mean what is today the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. Interestingly though, Islamic sources from the first 50 years or so after Muhammad's death make clear that Jerusalem had absolutely no holy status for Muslims.
When an armed force holds territory beyond its own national borders, the term "occupation" is commonly used to describe its holding on the land. However, not all the factual situations that we commonly think of as "occupation" fall within the limited scope of the term "occupation" as defined in international law.

It is Israel alone that gives the United States a guaranteed and safe base whenever needed. It is the Haifa naval harbor that is open to the US Sixth Fleet regularly. It is in the Negev that the US stores tons of military equipment for use when needed. It is Israel that provides the Voice of America an area in which to build new, powerful transmitters. It is Israel that flies US F-16 planes, in real combat, to tell the Americans what defects exist. It is Israel that puts Soviet missiles given to the Syrians out of commission and then explains to Washington how it was done. It is Israel that captures a Soviet T-72 tank and shows it to the CIA for the first time. It is Israel that has the brains, the technology, the ability to create; things that no nation in the region has.
Critics and enemies of Israel, including members of the UN and organs such as the International Court of Justice (ICJ) have come to use the Geneva Convention as a weapon against Israel, even when statements by authoritative analysts, scholars and drafters of the document contradict everything said by those who distort history for politically motivated reasons.
There is a myth hanging over all discussion of the Arab problem: this land was Arab land taken from its native inhabitants by invading Jews. The reason this is a myth is hardly ever made known. In fact, the Arab press has done an excellent job of making it seem to be the truth. So what is this myth and how strong is it?
» Humanitarian Assistance to Gaza
The government of Israel maintains several security corridors for the transfer of goods, humanitarian aid, fuel supplies, and other assistance for Gaza's Arab civilian population. Gaza is currently controlled by Hamas, a quasi-independent political/terrorist branch of the Fatah-controlled Palestinian Authority, based in Ram'Allah. This corridor is used by internationally recognized organizations including the United Nations and the Red Cross. Additional details can be found in our Gaza section.
